I really like old skool japs car. For enthusiast, it brings nostalgia during childhood, the same goes to me. Toyota KE20, KE30 and KE70 are among popular cars among Malaysia people.

It is not because they cannot afford to buy new car but the sentimental value is most important. To modified an old cars is not as easy as we thought. Modern car is much easier to upgrade since the performance part are available. You just need a deep pocket to make your car looks better and move faster and safer.

But it is not the same case when you upgrading or restoring old cars. If you have the money, it is not guarantee you owned what you want.

Here is some video from OldSkool Malaysia. In this video there are some cars that I really like. The first three car (KE30 and two KE70, they made a nice simple mods), a white Toyota Sprinter and in the last KE70 in white color (really like its classic sports rim)

Kereta ini mula dikeluarkan pada sekitar tahun 1976 sehingga tahun 1980. Bergantung kepada pasaran, kereta ini dikeluarkan dalam bentuk sedan 4 pintu, coupe dan juga wagon.

Terdapat beberapa variasi enjin bagi Toyota Cressida ini (1.8L, 2.0L dan 2.6L). Antara spesifikasi asal kereta ini adalah stereng kuasa (tahun 70-an? huh), penghawa dingin dan juga 4 kelajuan automatic atau 5 kelajuan manual.

Bagi aku, Cressida 4 pintu lebih memukau hati. dengan reka bentuk yg unik ditambah dengan sport rim yang “kena”. Kereta ini memang cun!

Toyota KE70 is one of favorite cars for old skool lovers.  My uncle have one of this car before and serve him for many years.

Japs car are always known for its practicality and reliability. During its era, this car is popular among teachers and government servant.

The first production of this car starts from 1974. They are variation engine provided for this car, 1.3L and up to 1.8L

The first version of this car named as Toyota DX with a round headlight with chrome bumpers

Next, the Toyota DX come with a rectangle headlight but still maintain chrome bumpers but sometime I also see some DX with rubber bumpers

Next, the Ke70 come updated version named Toyota GL. This car have been given new headlights (bigger), new tail lights (also bigger) with a rubber bumpers (quite wide for safety purpose I guess)

There are some tricks to make your GL look nice. I have seen people change their rubber bumpers with Toyota DX

For the engine, the most popular swapping project is to 4AGE. This engine is known for its reliability and sustain to pressure. But there are people who swapping and SR20DET into car!

Restoring a old skool car really require patient and passion.

My father used to have this car when I was a little kid. It was an orange color 2 doors KE20. It was a practical car with a good fuel consumption. This car gave a lot nostalgia to me.

While browsing the Youtube, bump to this crazy clips.

This 2nd video looks like recorded in Malaysia. Nice car but better choose a safer place if you need to test your car. Or you can end up in jail with car being hold by the authority.
