Toyota KE70 is one of favorite cars for old skool lovers. My uncle have one of this car before and serve him for many years.
Japs car are always known for its practicality and reliability. During its era, this car is popular among teachers and government servant.
The first production of this car starts from 1974. They are variation engine provided for this car, 1.3L and up to 1.8L
The first version of this car named as Toyota DX with a round headlight with chrome bumpers
Next, the Toyota DX come with a rectangle headlight but still maintain chrome bumpers but sometime I also see some DX with rubber bumpers
Next, the Ke70 come updated version named Toyota GL. This car have been given new headlights (bigger), new tail lights (also bigger) with a rubber bumpers (quite wide for safety purpose I guess)
There are some tricks to make your GL look nice. I have seen people change their rubber bumpers with Toyota DX
A wagon version of KE70
For the engine, the most popular swapping project is to 4AGE. This engine is known for its reliability and sustain to pressure. But there are people who swapping and SR20DET into car!
Restoring a old skool car really require patient and passion.
