KIA has shown their commitment and does not want to be left behind by announcing that an EV car will out by 2013. This car is said to be used lithium-ion battery and approximately can go about 140 km with 60hp. It fully powered by electric motor and the recharging time takes about 6 hours using household outlet.

With many of world resources like oil been wasted in war, I think it is a good step for all automaker to move on EV.

Kia Motors have show their new race car concept based on latest Kia Optima model at 2011 Chicago Auto Show.

This race look amazing with a red and white color scheme

On the outside, we can see some part of this car been replaced with a carbon fiber item like front bumper and front grill

Also, at the both side of these car, there are like air flow attach to its fender made from carbon fiber.

To reduce the weight of these car, the factory standard roof top been replaced with a carbon fiber made. Nice one!

An a set of sports rim from BBS with a nice titanium color completed the transformation of these car on the outside.

On the other hand, the interior part of these car also been heavily transformed. A simple carbon fiber made dashboard with digital meter replace the factory dashboard. Also, a steering wheels with an airbag been replaced with sport steering wheels from Sparco.

All carpets, panels and seats been striped out to give a way to a roll cage and a single race seats from Cobra in red color.

With a big chassis from Kia Optima, this race car looks great if they enter Nascar racing…maybe?

Royal Malaysian Police (Polis Di Raja Malaysia – PDRM) have introduced new line of cars as their front liners lately.

In 2009, they have pick up Mitsubishi Evo 10 to handle cases like carjacking, kidnapping and highjacking. Some people like it and some people said that it is a waste of money. With a new decals, it really stands out this car in a highway. I always spotted this car around KL.

It is also spotted that PDRM is already have Volvo S80. No details available but it may used in escorting the VIP.

At the end 2010, me myself spotted a Lancer as a police car around area Damansara. cannot get the picture of since driving alone. But when look at several websites, it is true that PDRM is also pick Lancer GT as their Patrol car. This time, it used common decals. Same like other police vehicle.

Next, BeritaSemasa.com reported PDRM is also pick up Kia Forte/ Naza Forte (a rebadge version of KIA in Malaysia). No details are available but from the design, there are two type of used for this new cars. One is for daily official used car (not patrolling) and another one might be for interceptor car. They also introduce special decals for this cars not like a regular patrol unit. Looks more aggressive!

Some people may like it. Some people might say it is a waste of money. For me, let them have what they need in order for them to do their jobs.

With more powerful car for special cases, it it quite important to have these cars in the police department. Maybe in the future our PDRM cars are in video game like Need For Speed – Hot Pursuits?
