The car achieved a safety rating of 5-Star in Adult Occupant Protection (AOP) and 4-Star in Child Occupant Protection (COP). This is excellent news for Proton as they have achieved another 5-Star in AOP after the Prevé/Suprima S model. What is more special to the ASEAN NCAP, this result (Quarter III 2014 September Release) is the very first time for the program to have only one car in a single release, as well as the second car (after Perodua Axia) to obtain ASEAN NCAP safety rating before the market debut.

Proton have surprised visitors who visit their open day today by unveiling their new crossover concept which is based on the latest Iriz platform. The Iriz Active are meant to be a mini SUV and it look more aggressive.
Crossover concept is a common lineup by car manufacturer. Volvo have their own V40 cross country. While Audi have also shown their TT crossover concept at 2014 Beijing Autoshow.
Overall, the car have been lifted higher compare to normal Iriz. It were equipped with a new bigger set of wheels with a new fender extension. This type of fenders are common design for a crossover since it were to protect the car from easily being scratched when it went for an off roading. The roof line also received a different treatment.
Proton also have redesign its front bumpers with a new lips and have completed it with a new set of running day light LED both at its bumpers and also at its signal lights.
The usage of LED continue to its tail lights and also third brake lights. The newly redesign LED lights looks so aggressive and high quality. We don't know whether this concept will ever being approved and if it does we are not sure if Proton can deliver it with reasonable price.
Now lets move to its interior. Proton have shown that they are capable doing a better infotainment system. The meters and gadget can be actively highlight to the driver since it is all on a screen.
The centre console also received a big interactive screen. All physical button are being replaced with virtual button. The beauty of this approach is that it can include a lot of features and since each features is not physically located, the infotainment system can be utilised as a navigation system at one time, as a reverse screen at another time and back to control aircond whenever needed. It is also a hint Proton may come out with electric model for this Iriz since Tesla Model S also used the same features.
Congratulation Proton. We hope this crossover concept will have an AWD system with 1.3 and 1.6 turbocharged system. With powerful engine, we also hope the new Iriz will be part of World Rally Championship to compete with Volkswagen Polo. Then it will make us proud.
Proton have organised "Alami Proton" open day at their Centre of Excellence near Shah Alam. The event was started from today to tomorrow (28/9/2014). For this post, we will share in brief things you may love to know.

We arrived at Proton Centre of Excellence around 11 a.m and people have already started to park their cars at the side of the highway. But no worries, just drive into Proton COE and you will be guided by security staffs to a reserve parking area.
The reserve parking area situated quite far from the main event area but Proton provide shuttle cars for their visitors. These shuttle cars will pick you up from the parking area back to the main entrance.

It is not too late to go to the event and have fun with friends or family.
Tips: Visit their show room to cool you down. If their canteen is still operating, find a table with no "Media" tag. We do that just now since we came as a public visitors not as media people.

Proton have made an unexpected surprise by unveiling the new Proton model ahead of its launching day which expect to happen in 10 days. To make it more special, it is our beloved Tun Mahathir who drive the car around the town.
It is believed this the 1.6 VVT Premium model. The car looks so great. Proton have done a great job by implementing a new design language leaving other competitors far behind. It looks so fresh and feel energised. The paint looks so solid nicely done too especially on front and rear bumpers.
With Tun's direction, all future models from Proton will have a nice design, high quality material both inside and outside and high safety features; a complete package for a soon-to-be-successful model.
Usually when a customer choose a basic model, all of the safety features will be ripped off but not with the new Proton. Proton want their customers to have a safe ride (Remember Proton SV edition? They taken out all nice-to-have items but they still equipped the car with ABS and airbags)
With this model, luckily Proton have chosen the right name "Iriz". With a great name, high quality product and affordable price for different types of people, this model will be a big turn around for Proton to be more successful both for local market and international market.
We have review some of people thoughts on the internet abut this new model and it seems people are positive about it. We hope that Proton will do well in their business and don't ruin people trust anymore in future. Good job team at Proton! You guys have done such a great job.
Here the tentative price specs sheets for the new Iriz.

But leak photos fly around the social media. Have a look at the halogen head lights and fresh design.
With LED taillights
New style side mirrors with minimal blind spot
Normal radio and MP3 player maybe for basic model (But still with high quality material on its dashboard and other interior items). The dashboard also interpret latest design languange.
.. And there are also variant which equip with a interactive multimedia with a touch screen maybe?
The interior looks so nice with high quality material. And there are a lot of air bags too!

Proton seems to put a lot of effort and market study on this model. We hope Proton will finish its effort during the last round. Choose the right name. Google it first! (Please 1000x).
Make a simple but meaningful advertisement. People want to know why they should buy this car. Good Luck. We believe you guys will do a better job this time.
* Btw, Airiz is a name of hygiene product. Don't do the same mistake twice as Suprima S (Suprima is a name of adult diapers). If you guys still choose the name Airiz, there must be something wrong with the person who choose it. Google it first! It is a good car, don't ruin it with bad name.
Proton have release some of early pictures for the new PCC.
They really have do their homework for the all new headlights. The new design is not just for aesthetic but also useful. (There are much better than Preve and Suprima S)
The interior looks so nice with high quality material. And there are a lot of air bags too!

In 1992, Mitsubishi have introduced the Evo I as a successor for Mitsubishi VR-4. During the World Rally Championship, Mitsubishi have won a lot of trophies and their enemy at that time was Subaru.
Mitsubishi Evo are known for its "easy-to-tuned", reliability and well handled. It is a car with turbocharged engine and 4WD system.
For regular people, they can own a Lancer which is a day-to-day version of an Evo. In 90's, Mitsubishi have been working together with Proton that allow Proton to create Proton Wira which is based on Lancer platform. The collaboration resume in the new millennium with a rebadge with a new facelift and improved version of Lancer GT and named it as Proton Inspira.
Evo X is currently being used in Malaysia as an official highway patrol car by Royal Malaysia Police.
But 2015 will be last year for the Evo 10. Mitsubishi have announced that there will be no new model for turbocharged combustion engine. Their focus will be more on hybrid and electric vehicle.
Hybrid cars are known for better performance with more efficient system. Rumours said even Skyline GT-R will come out with R-Hybrid. Is there a new version of Evolution (An EVO-R)? Until that time come, watch the video from the Top Gear.
