Lamborghini Huracán LP 620-2 Super Trofeo Racer Revealed

1:44 AM

Lamborghini's latest offering for the one-make Blancpain racing series has been unveiled, replacing the previous model based on the Gallardo.
Meet the 2015 Huracán LP 620-2 Super Trofeo; set to debut concurrently in all three of the racing series' (Europe, Asia and North America) next year.
Co-developed by racing specialists Dallara Engineering, the Super Trofeo uses a tuned version of the road car’s 5.2 litre V10 petrol engine, lifting power from 448 to 463kW.
The racer is rear-wheel drive - as indicated by the “-2” in the car’s lengthy name – and features a ten-position rear wing, front and rear diffusers and adjustable front air intakes.

The ‘regular’ Huracan can accelerate from rest to 100km/h in 3.2 seconds and 200km/h in 9.9 seconds, on its way to a top speed of 325km/h.
Given the Super Trofeo version’s relatively light 1274kg weight (thanks to rear- instead of all-wheel-drive), it’s likely the racer will be able to top these figures.
A hybrid carbon-fibre/aluminium composite is used to construct the chassis, and the Super Trofeo will race on specially-engineered Pirelli tyres

“The Huracan Super Trofeo is an all-new car built from scratch with a clear racing concept,” Lamborghini’s Maurizio Reggiani said.
‘‘We believe the car will be as fun for fans to watch as it will be rewarding for our racers to drive.’
