Nissan Pulsar Nismo, 370Z Nismo -Paris motor show -
4:30 PMThe sporty little Pulsar goes into the cool-but-not-coming-here category. For motivation, it uses a 187-hp, 177-lb-ft, 1.6-liter direct-injection four. The Nismo trim adds both aerodynamic and engineering tweaks, boosting output to about 250 hp. It also gets a lowered suspension, bigger wheel arches, a carbon-fiber spoiler and a limited-slip differential. Nissan says this is just a concept for now, but it already admitted to plans for expanding the Nismo range, and the Pulsar would be a perfect candidate.
Nissan’s motorsports brand is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year. In Paris, it showed off its 370Z Nismo, which we drove recently, and a production version of its 214-hp Juke Nismo RS.
The biggest news, at least for us, is the addition of the NissanConnect Nismo Plus telemetry system, which made its public debut at the show. The system allows drivers to review their performance via Sony’s “Gran Turismo 6” video game. It also works with a smartphone app that allows drivers to overlay their data onto Google Earth maps.
