Volkswagen is one of the brands that seriously want to gain a foothold in Malaysia and are confident in the strength of its product line. Despite the challenges of competition from other brands, Volkswagen remains to show the competitiveness and now, Volkswagen Group Malaysia has four CKD models mounted on DRB-Hicom plant in Pekan, Pahang.
The new Jetta launched last April and Passat, the first model of CKD (starting in 2012) have been upgraded. The new Volkswagen models including Jetta and Passat now is that it has a DSG gearbox has been enhanced; significant problems that ever happened to the previous model have been identified and the vehicles are equipped with the appropriate equipment to prevent it from recurring. For the Jetta, it is a complete vehicle, including sedans in terms of safety; equipped with dual airbags in the front and sides, ABS brakes, Electronic Stability BA and Controller (ESC).
