In 1992, Mitsubishi have introduced the Evo I as a successor for Mitsubishi VR-4. During the World Rally Championship, Mitsubishi have won a lot of trophies and their enemy at that time was Subaru.
Mitsubishi Evo are known for its "easy-to-tuned", reliability and well handled. It is a car with turbocharged engine and 4WD system.
For regular people, they can own a Lancer which is a day-to-day version of an Evo. In 90's, Mitsubishi have been working together with Proton that allow Proton to create Proton Wira which is based on Lancer platform. The collaboration resume in the new millennium with a rebadge with a new facelift and improved version of Lancer GT and named it as Proton Inspira.
Evo X is currently being used in Malaysia as an official highway patrol car by Royal Malaysia Police.
But 2015 will be last year for the Evo 10. Mitsubishi have announced that there will be no new model for turbocharged combustion engine. Their focus will be more on hybrid and electric vehicle.
Hybrid cars are known for better performance with more efficient system. Rumours said even Skyline GT-R will come out with R-Hybrid. Is there a new version of Evolution (An EVO-R)? Until that time come, watch the video from the Top Gear.
